Our Mission

At Beacon House, our mission, "Neighbours Helping Neighbours," is rooted in care and compassion. We are dedicated to providing nourishment, clothing, and support to members of our community facing challenges.

Operating under the Beacon House Interfaith Society, a collaboration of local churches, and proudly aligned with Feed Nova Scotia, Beacon House stands as a testament to the power of unity. Guided by a volunteer Board of Directors, we have evolved from humble beginnings to serve as a beacon of hope since 1985..

Today, we touch the lives of over 2500 clients, encompassing 600 to 700 families each month. Our growth and impact have been possible through the generosity of our community, as we are not government-funded. Instead, our operations are sustained by the sales of donated goods in our adjacent retail store and contributions from churches, community groups, corporations, and individuals.

Together, as "Neighbours Helping Neighbours," we illuminate the path to brighter futures.
